We're back on an every-other-week schedule from here on out! (Scroll to the end to see the remaining dates and whether this is your week to pick up.)
Spring and Summer CSA details are coming soon, but we were dragging our feet until we knew more about the construction schedule for our new packing shed.
With a lot going on beyond the farm right now, we hope everyone is finding small ways to take care of themselves and check in on their own well-being. We’re doing the same here, and leaning into the steady, practical work that keeps things moving forward.
Around the Farm
The past couple of weeks have been bitterly cold, and that kind of weather naturally slows everything down on the farm. There isn’t much visible movement right now — no big harvests, no new plantings — and that’s exactly what this season is meant to look like.
Winter CSA exists for a different reason than the rest of the year. This isn’t the time for flashy abundance or constant novelty; it’s about consistency and follow-through. The vegetables in your share were grown and harvested with this moment in mind, chosen for their ability to store well and carry us through the quiet stretch of the season.
Take rutabagas, for example. Long before refrigeration, crops like these were a cornerstone of winter eating — hardy roots that could be stored in cellars and pulled out as needed, feeding families through months when the fields were frozen. In many ways, winter CSA mirrors that same rhythm: growing with intention, storing carefully, and relying on crops meant to last.
Our work right now is careful and behind the scenes: monitoring storage conditions, tracking inventory, and setting the goals and pace for our next season. It’s slower than harvest season, but it’s intentional—everything is going exactly as it should—and we are staying healthy and rested.
