Allen Farmers Market is hosting its Annual Holiday Market, so expect things to be a little busier and parking to be a little more complicated.
Meridian Twp Farmers Market moves inside the Meridian Mall from here on out. They are also asking folks to use a "new" entrance, which is actually waaaay closer to our stand. (It's not new, we didn't know it existed, and we're creatures of habit). Here's a map if you need a reminder or haven't been inside the Mall for a bit 🙋♀️.
Around the Farm
Winter arrived right on schedule this week, dropping about four inches of snow and pushing us into the actual cold-weather routine. Most of our time has been spent doing exactly what this season demands—buttoning up things, checking on
hydrants, and making sure everything is secure for the first big winter plop. We also used these quieter days to get all the animals through their vet visits before the snow settled in.
With one or another of us under the weather, Thanksgiving ended up being low-key this year—no big celebrations, just keeping the farm running and staying on top of the essentials... like laundry, hydration, and sleep. Shrug. Some weeks are simply about maintaining the farm, and this was one of them- except this week, we just maintained the people who make the farm what it is.
Looking ahead, our attention is on prep for next week’s GLEXPO (the Michigan Fruit and Vegetable Expo) in Grand Rapids. It’s always a busy stretch of learning, note-taking, and catching up with growers from across the state. We’ll spend a couple of days there gathering ideas, comparing notes, and gearing up for the next round of projects.
For now, the snow is settled, the veggies are tucked away, the animals are good, and we’re easing into this new pace. Thanks for being with us each week as the season rolls on.

Pic of the Week
A beautiful ornamental kale/cabbage that we forgot to share! We had a few for sale at the stand for decorating T-giving tables. I'm not sure if we'll do it next year, but they were lovely to look at and watch grow throughout the year.
