Somehow, we’re already at the last Winter CSA share of November — the every-other-week schedule makes time move twice as fast, turns out. One minute we’re sliding into the start of the season, and the next we’re packing the final pre-Thanksgiving boxes.

The farm is in that in-between phase right now: mostly put to bed for winter, but still full of activity behind the scenes when the days are sun-shiny and bright. Carl (our 40-foot storage container) is officially loaded with roots, and we’ve been playing a whole lot of “where can this crate go so we only have to move it once?”

This weekend we’re hosting a farmer potluck, and right after that, it’s going to be a full-blown sprint. We’re stocking up, cleaning up, and getting everything ready so your Thanksgiving tables are well supplied.
December will bring some fun gift ideas and holiday extras, but for now, our focus is squarely on good food for next week.
And because it’s never too early to think about flowers, ranunculus and tulips are officially planted for spring—something cheerful to look forward to as the days get shorter.
Thanks for being along for this quick-moving start to winter — we’ll see you in December!

Veggie of the Week: Carrots
Carrots are one of those rare crops that bridge seasons gracefully—sweet in summer, sweeter in fall, and absolute candy after a frost. This week’s batch comes from our final big harvest of the year, pulled from the field just before the cold settles in. They’re crisp, bright, and versatile enough to go from raw snacking to cozy roasts to freezer-friendly soups. Here are a few ways to make the most of them!
Erica was not happy with this sad little carrot. It has a beautiful top and such promise! Sometimes you pull a winner, and sometimes it's a dud. Photo credit: Erica, Ned, Marin, and Sophia.
