What a season it has been! As we wrap up Week 15—the final week of our Summer CSA—we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks. Farming is never a straight path, and this year certainly had its share of ups and downs, surprises, setbacks, and slow miracles. Through it all, you stuck with us. Your support helped our farm move forward, enabled us to employ a hardworking crew, and allowed us to continue partnering with other small farms in our region.
Because of you, we not only grew thousands of pounds of food right here in mid-Michigan, but we also supported other local growers, such as Green Wagon Farm,C&S Family Farm, Rojas Freshly Picked, and our network of small farm partners, who contributed lettuce, blueberries, pawpaws, apples, microgreens, mushrooms, and more throughout the season. Your membership strengthens the local food system—far beyond the borders of our fields.
And we’re excited to share some big news: Titus Farms was awarded a grant from MDARD (Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development) to expand and improve our on-farm storage and packing capabilities. This is a significant step forward in building long-term farm stability, enhancing food safety, expanding winter storage crops, and increasing the resources we can provide to you and other families in mid-Michigan. More on this soon—we can’t wait to bring you along as this project unfolds.
Winter CSA details will be available soon—possibly as early as tomorrow. As always, we open enrollment in stages:
Past Winter CSA members get first access.
Then Summer CSA 2025 members.
Then the public (if spots remain).
Keep an eye on your inbox—these usually fill quickly!
And finally—Squashapalooza is back! 🎃
Join us here at the farm on Saturday, October 26, for a one-day squash pick-up event for CSA members only. To keep things smooth (and make sure our little farm lane doesn’t get overwhelmed), we’ll have a sign-up form for arrival times coming soon—stay tuned!
For now, we want to say—truly—thank you for sticking with us, eating with us, and being part of this farm-ily. We couldn’t do any of this without you, and we’re grateful every single week you choose to be here with us.
Around the Farm
This week has big energy—the kind that comes from racing the clock and refusing to let a little chaos slow us down. Sure, our undercutter broke right as we were about to dig sweet potatoes (classic timing), and the pigs went to processing today, so there was zero chance of fixing it. However, that just means we pivot, grab another tool, and keep moving forward. Farm life builds character, right?

Potatoes are still rolling in—slow and steady—and while the yield is lighter this year, we’re not worried. Our friends at Green Wagon Farm have us covered for winter storage spuds, so Winter CSA members will still be swimming in taters. And speaking of Winter CSA—get ready.
The fields are bursting with daikon radishes, rutabagas, kohlrabi, cabbage, carrots, and beets, all of which need to be harvested within the next two weeks before our crew heads home. It’s going to be a root-lover’s dream.
We also need to build a place to put them, as we dismantle our current packshed and move into the next phase of infrastructure upgrades.
Never a dull moment—but we like it that way.
Bonus good news: Lake Divide Farm has a bumper crop of broccoli, which means more deliciousness heading your way soon. Teamwork makes local food stronger!

Pic of the Week
Pictured: blue ageratum with a bit of ice. Frostmas has come and gone—(a celebration of the first glittery and killer frost), but some warmer things actually made it through! The dahlias and glads still look okay, but many other plants, like tomatoes and peppers, were affected.
