We hope you had a chance to enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!
Around the Farm
This week feels like we're hitting the gas pedal on all the planting!
The greenhouse is packed wall-to-wall with plants that are very ready to leave their trays and head out into the fields, and every morning seems to bring a few more things that need immediate attention. Around this time of year, it can feel like the to-do list grows faster than we can cross things off.
It just landed in Cari's hand! Sometimes things are like a Disney story around here.
The weeds have also fully arrived.
With the warmer weather and recent rain, everything is growing quickly right now -both the crops we planted intentionally and plenty we didn’t. We’ve planned to spend much of the week cultivating, mowing, and trying to stay ahead before things get out of control. (Especially with all the ticks we've spotted- eek!)
Still, this is the point in the season where the farm really starts to come alive. The fields are filling in, more outdoor harvests are beginning, and the CSA shares are starting to reflect that shift into late spring.
The Menu
Please customize your share by the deadline if you want to choose your items. If you don’t customize, we’ll pack a Farmer’s Choice share for you, but we may reach out before we do so.
Items in red with an asterisk* are the Farmer's Choice for this week.
Choose up to 25 credits for Spring Veggie Shares.
Items marked “storage” were harvested last fall and held in our coolers for winter and spring shares. This is a normal part of seasonal eating in Michigan, and it helps bridge the gap until more fresh field crops are ready.
